FamilyTreeDNA provides all Y-DNA testing and hosts the Rowland Project and other surname projects.
The Rowland Project at FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA) aims to define the individual lines of the Rowland surname and provide a definite means of linking related persons. The project attempts to match and categorize each test taker kit into a group based on their Y-DNA test results. The Rowland Project at FamilyTreeDNA contains the current status of this effort. Individual tester privacy is controlled by the use of kit numbers when displaying results.
The project also includes a discussion group, and the FTDNA site has a wealth of additional tools and features. Be sure to check them out.
I am personally identified as Kit Number B112520 in the second grouping labeled “Chester Co. PA – 1784” in the image above. It is believed that all members of that group are descendants of James Rowland, who passed away in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1762. This line has been designated Rowland DNA Group B.

I have added a list of the children of Robert Roland (1751-)and unknown spouse to the Wikitree profile, but do not know how to edit the article. I include the children of Joseph Roland (c. 1795 NC), my Texas ancestor.
