“Tracing Our Rowland Ancestors, A Search Into Their Past: Canada–Wales–England” by Darrell Grant, Calgary, self-published March 2007, Amended June 2012, 35 pages. The author traces his maternal Rowland line backward through time starting with Arthur Wensley Rowland (1850-1922). Arthur was born in Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales, and was living in Woodstock, Oxford County, Upper Canada (now Ontario) a couple of years later. This ancestral line was in Wales for a couple of generations, and in Cheshire, England before 1800. The earliest Rowland records in the area were found in Shocklach Parish, Cheshire. Although in two different countries, Shocklach and Wrexham are only about 10 miles apart, with the River Dee separating them.
The document contains a narrative history along with 16 appendices of sources, photographs, and trees. The Rowland Y-DNA Group for this line is untested and unknown.
