The family under consideration is descended from Thomas Rowland, who with his brother Daniel, came from Scotland in the latter part of the seventeenth century. Thomas had a son and a grandson by the name of Thomas. The third Thomas was born in Reading. Connecticut, September 22, 1721. and died May 15, 1808.
His son, Hezekiah Rowland (1759-1819), is the father of the four descendants named in the title, all of whom settled in Huron County, Ohio. Aaron G Rowland (1780-1868), Levi Rowland (1788-1874), Esther (Rowland) King (1793-1873), and Nancy (Rowland) Wood (1797-1878). Their lives are outlined and dated with names and places. However, no dates or sources are offered for the 425 named descendants.
