By 1820, his family had migrated to Randolph County, Missouri.  In 1837, Macon County was formed from a part of Randolph County, and that is where John Crawford Rowland settled.  He died in 1886 and is buried in the Rowland Family Cemetery, which is located in Roundgrove Township, Macon County, Missouri.

DNA: The Y-DNA of this line is unclear at this time.  WikiTree currently has him connected to members of Rowland DNA Group J, while a test taker claiming to be a descendant does not match Group J and is the sole member of Macon County, Missouri Group Z.
