The story of Dr. Thomas Rowland (1810-1864) and his descendants begins begins on page 145 (pdf page 177).  Thomas Rowland was born in 1810 at Leesburg, Louden County, Virginia.  He moved to Fountain County, Indiana by 1828 and began practicing medicine.  He had two children by his first wife, America McIntyre, and eight by his second wife, Malinda  Walker, all in Fountain County.

Also includes prior generations of:

  • George Rowland (1781-1814), a War of 1812 veteran, who married Frances Goff Timms, and had three children.
  • Thomas Rowland (1745-1809), born in Charles County, Maryland, lived a time in Montgomery County, Maryland, and passed away in Frederick County, Virginia.  He married Ann Martin, and together, they had eight children.
  • George Rowling (1720-1782) of Prince George’s County, Maryland and descendants begins on page 170 (pdf page 202)

The index contains about 50 unique Rowland individuals, covering the 1700s through the 1900s.
