Rowland, and Mrs. Edith West (~1927), donated by A. F. Rowland, Eagle, Michigan, Michigan State Library 1952, 12 pages. Joseph Rowland (1760-1856) was born in Hanover, Germany. He emigrated to Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland with his parents and siblings in 1764. Joseph served in the American Revolution, married Christina Lehn, and established a tailor shop in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They removed to Ashland County, Ohio in the 1820s and then on to Wyandot County, Ohio about 1855. Another group of his descendants moved on to Fayette and Marion Counties of Iowa.
